Our History |
We have a history of hometown service! Jeff and LeAnne Dankenbring purchased Downard's Food Mart February 25, 2002. Previously owned by Pinky and Donna Downard. Jeff's Great Grandfather worked as a butcher at a Specialty Meat Store in Lincoln, NE and later worked in grocery stores in Lincoln. His sons, which would be Jeff's Great Uncles later owned a chain of neighborhood Market in Lincoln, NE. LeAnne's Mother and Father, Ken and Mary Schoen, Washington, KS, have been in the grocery business for over 40 years. They own Shcoen's Market in Washington, KS. |

Dank's Broadway Market
Prior to 1972 the building was an Implement dealership. In 1972 Pinky and Donna Downard expanded their business and mover from a smaller location in Marysville to the current location. When the store was owned by the Downard family it was always known for it's Meat Department and Dank's is carrying on that great tradition. |
What We are Known For |
No Bull, Just Great Meat! We are especially known for our quality meats. We are thought to offer the finest selection of high qauality meat within a 50 mile radius. We take special orders on a regular basis from Lincoln, NE, Illinois, Manhattan, KS and all around the Marshall, Washington, and Nemaha County area. We carry only Fresh/Never Frozen Star Ranch Angus Beef, Hormel Natural Choice Porks, and MBA Brand SMART Chicken. None of which has any additives, preservative. We cut and pack all our Beef and Pork right here in the store several times daily guaranteeing freshness and quality. We actually handle the product and inspect it with our own eyes versus having all this done in some packing house out of state and having it shipped in. We also do special cuts and special orders any time. |

Our Commitment to the Community |
We help and support many organizations through donations and volunteering of our time. We conduct a program we call "RECEIPTS FOR EDUCATION" where we give 1% of the total value of all receipts collected by local schools. In 2007/2008 school Dank's donated over $4000 to Marysville Schools through this program. Jeff Dankenbring is also a member of the Moose Lodge, Marysville Mainstreet, Maryville Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, former board member for Big Brothers / Big Sister, Knights of Columbus. |
